Babson Park, Mass. – The University of Chicago women’s basketball program lost to Rhode Island College 64-56 in the third round of the 2023 Division III Championship hosted by Babson College on Friday evening.
The No. 10-ranked Maroons faced a 17-point deficit early in the third quarter, but mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter to pull within two. RIC stopped UChicago with a few timely shots in the final stanza, however, to earn an eight-point victory.

UChicago’s historic campaign ended with a 23–5 overall record, its most wins since 2017–18. It was also the first time since 2011–12 that the Maroons advanced to the third round of the NCAA Championships.
