
Tej of Lucknow Super Giants Jaydev Unadkat Has been ruled out of the rest of IPL 2023 due to a left shoulder injury which he picked up during practice in the nets on Sunday. ESPNcricinfo has learned that he will be fit in time for the WTC final against Australia, starting June 7 at The Oval.
Unadkat was on his way to bowl his first ball in the Lucknow nets on Sunday when he ran around the wicket and his left leg got caught in the rope holding up the nets. He had fallen badly on his bowling elbow. He grabbed his left shoulder while on the ground and was seen shortly after with his arm in a sling and an ice pack on his shoulder.
It is learned that Unadkat went to Mumbai for the scan and met one of the expert consultants appointed by the BCCI. In consultation with the medical staff of the board, the Supergiants decided to withdraw Unadkat from the IPL. He is expected to visit the NCA in Bengaluru for rehab to be fit to travel to England for the WTC final against Australia.

Unadkat’s injury came on the same day as KL Rahul, who injured his right foot while chasing a ball in the outfield in the second over against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday evening. Rahul’s scan results and extent of injury are still awaited.
Unadkat had gone wicketless in three IPL matches this season, conceding 92 runs in eight overs he bowled.
he is between five fast bowling options With Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and all-rounder Shardul Thakur in India’s squad for the WTC final. Rahul is also in the WTC team but his participation is not clear as of now.
