Summer is usually synonymous with heat, sweat, dirt and grime on our skin. People who usually step outside either to work or for some other work have to take extra care to maintain the health of their skin.

So, there can be two different regimes for the same face in both the seasons.
Here are some expert-recommended tips to take care of your skin in summers the right way.

1. Use an Exfoliating Cleanser

“In summers, our oily skin can absorb all the dirt and grime outside. So, you can start with the basics with a face wash/cleanser. You can go for a face wash which also exfoliates. If you sweat a lot or have an oily texture, you can go for a face wash that can exfoliate and has some action in it,” suggests the expert.

You can easily swear by an exfoliating cleanser or face wash in summers as it helps in deep cleansing your clogged pores, thus preventing skin problems.

2. A toner is always necessary

For people with oily or acne-prone skin, this problem can become more serious in summer. Hence, toners are a must as they work on clogged pores and oily skin caused by the heat and sunscreen. You can opt for toners that contain aloe vera, green tea extracts, and vitamins E or C that help prevent new pimples from forming and kill acne-causing bacteria.

3. Use a light water-based moisturizer

“Like in winters, you should not opt ​​for a thick or sticky moisturiser. You can go for a very light, water-based or gel-based moisturizer that doesn’t clog pores and just seals clean skin,” says the expert.

4. Sunscreen is non-negotiable

The same rule applies for sunscreens, they can be very light or gel-based according to the changing seasons. Actually, sunscreen spray can be used on the face and body in summer. You can apply water based sunscreen on the face.

If you want to put on makeup, you can apply it last after sunscreen. If you’re stepping out, you can grab a spray of sunscreen for touch-ups after a while.

5. Night Routine

The expert says, “Your nighttime skin-care routine consists of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. However, if you have any makeup on your skin, remove it first by using a makeup remover.
