Why did you choose UChicago?
I chose UChicago because it had the best combination of education, location, and experience.

Favorite moment of your UChicago athletic career?
J. Holding Lawrence University to zero runs in the conference tournament in Appleton after the last time we faced them in front of my friends in the stands at Kyle Anderson Field.

Favorite Team Tradition/Activity?
Staff Acquisition Tuesday.

Why did you originally fall in love with your sport?
In my opinion, there’s nothing better than hitting the ball square – actually moving around a pitch made all the practice and failure worth it.

What lessons have you learned through competing in your sport that have stuck with you?
Sometimes brute force and repetition is the only way to clear an obstacle.

What advice would you give to your fellow first years?
make your way

Favorite UChicago class you learned the most from and why?
Computer Science 121. I’ve learned that there will always be someone smarter than you, and that seemingly impossible problems can be solved after many hours of work.

Which UChicago faculty or staff member has had the greatest influence on you and why?
Rachel (athletic trainer). He helped me stay in competitive shape and really contributed directly to my success in collegiate baseball.

Favorite place on campus?
A fifth-floor book stack in reggae, straight from the men’s bathroom.

Favorite thing to do in the city?
Driving along Lake Shore Drive or finding new places to eat downtown.

What are your post-graduation plans?
Go to graduate school for a master’s degree.

In addition to your current sport, which sport or activity do you think you would most excel at?
Pool / Billiards.

Favorite Chicago Restaurant?
Quartino Restaurant.

Favorite place you visited?
Rome, Italy.
