To celebrate its 10th anniversary, 4A Games is letting anyone hold its seminal sequel, Metro Last Light, for free on Steam between May 18-25. Once you’ve added the game to your Steam library, it stays with you.

Metro: Last Light directly follows the beginning of the game series, metro 2033, continuing the story of Artyom and his fight for survival in the harrowing tunnels beneath a post-apocalyptic Russian metropolis. The sequel honored the mechanics of the first, maintaining the tough-as-nails first-person action while improving it with polished gunplay and less-obscure mechanics. This is a game that looked great when it launched and continues to turn heads today.

Metro: Exodus, which launched in 2019, is the most recent entry in the series, with developer 4A Games reportedly working on a sequel. The author of the book series that adapted the games (who is also currently a wanted man in Russia for speaking out against the war in Ukraine) confirmed in 2019 that a A sequel to Exodus was in development, A report earlier this year suggested that this fourth game entry is progressing well and may could potentially be revealed this year,
