1975 Mercury Prize Album of the Year in London in 2016. It was a prestigious awards ceremony celebrating the best albums of the year at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, in association with BBC 6 Music.

Matty Healy The 1975’s is the frontman. He is a singer, songwriter and musician from England, and has been in the music business since 2002. His parents are also in the entertainment business. His father, Tim Healy, is an actor and his mother, Denise Welch, is an actress and television presenter.

Matty formed The 1975 in 2002 with lead guitarist Adam Hahn, bassist Ross McDonald, and drummer and producer George Daniel. He started out as the drummer but was moved to lead vocalist when Elliot Williams left the band. As of 2023, The 1975 have released five studio albums, two live albums, and seven EPs.

In addition to his work with The 1975, Matty worked on other projects with bandmate George. He co-produced No Rome’s EP ‘RIP Indo Hisashi’ and Bebadubi’s solo EP ‘Our Extended Play’. He also wrote the songs, ‘Pictures of Us’ and ‘You Are Here That Thing’ which were on Beebadoobee’s album ‘Beetopia’.
