chicago – The University of Chicago women’s basketball team collected a total of four conference awards from the University Athletic Association (UAA) at the conclusion of the regular season.
Three Maroons were named to All-UAA teams, led by first-team selections. Grace Hines, The senior guard has paced the squad in scoring (16.1 PPG), rebounding (6.9 RPG) and free-throw percentage (.838). He has scored at least 25 points on seven occasions this season, along with double-digit rebounds in five games. Hines was previously a Second Team All-UAA honoree in 2021-22.
Ellie Gross Received second team All-UAA accolades as the team’s starting point guard. She leads the roster with 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Gross averaged 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season, rising to 12.0 points per game in conference games.
Sophia North Was a Second Team All-UAE pick as the starting shooting guard for the Maroons. The junior is currently second on the team in scoring with 11.8 points per game. From long range, North made a team-high 42 three-pointers this season. He is also averaging 3.8 rebounds per game.
UChicago also claimed the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year Award, which recognized head coach Maria Williamson and assistant coaches Michelle Bielek, Dolly Yuan and Jana Gonzales. The No. 10-ranked Maroons have a 23–4 overall record and are second in the league with a 10–4 UAA record. This marked the seventh season in program history with at least 20 wins. The Maroons returned to the NCAA postseason for the fifth time since 2017 and advanced to the NCAA Championship Round of 16.
