Nathan Lyon says Australia should not be intimidated by England’s ‘baazball’ revolution, urging teammates not to fall into the same trap as they did in India.

In the past year alone, seven English batsmen in the top or middle order have had a strike rate of over 60, with the team winning 10 out of 12 matches. The question remained throughout that period as to how they would fare against the No. 1 ranked Australian attack during the Ashes.
Steve Smith raised the exact same question as early as last July, when Australia’s bowlers were renowned for creating pressure and being among the most economical in the world. And as far as Lyon is concerned, the answer is simple: Australia can win if they buck the trend of their recent rivals England and don’t panic.
“You see the way they played against New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan, they have been able to intimidate the opposition,” Lyon told AAP. “We just have to worry about ourselves. Control what we can control and worry about what’s in our backyard and not worry about what they’re doing. If we make sure that our Have really good plans and stick to them, everything will work out.” Ok.”
Lyon admits Australia was to blame for this year’s horror 2-1 loss in the series to IndiaWhere they collapsed in both the first and second tests.
In particular there was question whether Australia had thought much of their cricket, as several batsmen had been dismissed in a flurry of sweeps and reverse-sweeps. There is already a thought that England are trying to get into Australia’s heads and create mental pressure in the build-up to this series.
Ben Stokes has spoken about wanting flat wickets, there have been reports of wanting shorter boundaries and Stuart Broad has told Australia’s batsmen to try to copy England’s approach. Lyon, however, is urging calm.
“We shouldn’t panic anyway,” he said. “We got nervous in India and we saw what happened. If we can learn from that experience and play in our own way and with our brand, it will be fine.”
Keeping this in mind, Lyon said that he would not change the way he bowled to his offspinners to counter England’s attacking mindset.
Lyon said, “I’m not buying into any of this. It’s just us.” “We need to worry about ourselves. We’ll be really well employed. And with Pat [Cummins] And with Smith leading us, I think we’ll be in a really good position.
“I’m bowling with Mitch [Starc] And Pat, over the past few weeks, our preparation has been going really well. We are not taking into account the fact that he has to do this against the Australian bowlers. We are just going through our process and taking care of ourselves.”
