London – French tennis player Baptiste Crepet The International Tennis Integrity Agency said on Friday that he had been banned for three years due to match-fixing.

The 28-year-old Crepete was “involved in the fixing of three matches”, ITIA said in a statement, allegations the player contested. He was also fined $15,000.

In August 2019, Krepet had reached a career-high ATP ranking of 276.

“This case is the latest in a series of investigations carried out by ITIA in conjunction with law enforcement investigations in Belgium, which have seen a number of tennis players implicated in match-fixing incidents,” the agency said.

In 2019, the European police agency Europol said it had identified links between a match-fixing gambling syndicate in Spain and Belgium that was thought to have paid off dozens of players and corrupted lower-level tennis tournaments.
