
Australian fast bowler Jordan Buckingham Northamptonshire has joined.
The 23-year-old Buckingham impressed for South Australia in the recent Sheffield Shield season, taking a record 25 wickets at 26.56 in his first seven first-class matches. This included being selected for Australia A’s tour of New Zealand in April, where he took 6 for 58 in his first appearance, dismissing New Zealand A’s top six.
“I am really grateful for the opportunity to represent such a proud club in Northamptonshire during my first stint in the UK.” Buckingham said. “I’m absolutely looking forward to getting into it this week and winning four-day cricket with my new teammates for the next few matches.”
Buckingham trained with the Northamptonshire squad this week ahead of their trip to Somerset and is available for the club’s next three LV=Insurance County Championship fixtures.
