Notably, the film is brimming with a star-studded cast, which is headed by American Idol Fantasia alum with supporting performances from Halle Bailey, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, HER, and many more.
Now with the trailer, we have our first official look at the new cast members in this classic tale. They’re filling in famous roles from the original 1985 film, which starred Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah and Danny Glover, along with other powerhouse cast members. (The 1985 film, which was an adaptation of Alice Walker’s 1982 novel, inspired the Broadway musical.)
