Dr Kochhar says they contain many harmful chemicals like lead, zinc, copper sulphate, aluminum bromide, mercury and asbestos. They are used to make colored powders which can make your hair dry and brittle.
How to remove Holi colors from hair
If you love your hair, you must oil your hair a lot before the color splashes. So, it is not just the Holi color but also the oil on your hair that needs to be washed off. Experts recommend shampooing your hair at least twice to remove all the dirt and oil from your hair. But you also need to retain moisture in your hair, so use natural ingredients that will fight dryness.
Here’s what you should add to your shampoo and use before using the cleanser!
1. Hair Mask with Vinegar and Milk
Take 1 teaspoon glycerin, 1 teaspoon vinegar, a little milk, shampoo and conditioner in a container and mix it well to make a pack. Apply it on your hair and leave it for about 20 minutes then wash it off.
2. Hair mask made of egg and curd

3. Aloe vera gel

4. Hair Mask with Lemon
Lemon, which has acidic properties, is perfect for your hair mask, says Dr. Kochhar. Lemon juice can help in getting rid of dandruff And also works as a perfect material to remove Holi colours. Take a bowl and mix curd with few drops of lemon juice in it. Mix the two and apply the mixture gently on your scalp. You can massage gently with light hands, as this will help balance the acid-base balance in your hair. Leave it for about 10 minutes and then wash it off with conditioner after your shampoo.
Tips to follow after washing hair
After playing with the colors of Holi, you can do much more than apply a hair mask.
• If you still feel that your hair is getting dry, use an oil like coconut oil and apply it on your hair.
• You can also apply serum on your hair strands.
Use a nourishing hair mask at least twice a week to keep your hair in good health, says Dr. Kochhar.
• Go to a salon and get a nice hair spa done.
