‘Grey’s Anatomy’ recap: Richard asks [Spoiler] to return

Amelia runs into Nick early in the morning as he is waiting for Lucas, who is running late. When Bailey sees Blue, she thanks him for saving her from being attacked. After Taryn’s passionate speech about Micah, Teddy sits down with the other doctors to talk about their treatment of the intern.

Link gets one of the most complicated cases of his career when an Air Force veteran named Sam Sutton is admitted after a wingsuit accident. Sam crashed into a granite wall at high speed. Miraculously, he has no brain injury, but his other injuries are extensive. Sam’s friend Kwame learns that Link is the one who operates The Tank. Kwame insists to Link that he better not have a bad day.

Maxine Anderson returns to the hospital because she is feeling dizzy. Maxine catches up with Blue, and he teases her about having something for Jules. Turns out, Maxine has a UTI.

Lucas didn’t tell Simone that he couldn’t her maid of honor, so Jules has to break the news. It’s weird to say the least. However, Jules is at least trying to get to know Simone.

Sam is more concerned about Kwame than himself. Sam says that his friend is his “ride or die”. He wants to make sure Kwame will be okay if he doesn’t. And it’s a real possibility. Sam has broken at least 75 bones so far. Thankfully, his spine is intact, but the rest of his body is a “puzzle”.

Sam has two options regarding the surgery. Link advocated multiple surgeries over a few days. Owen comes in and states that they can do all the repairs at once, which Link strongly advises against. Owen and Link do not see eye-to-eye on this. Owen is seeing this as someone who, like Sam, has been in battle. Link tells Owen to get out.

When a critical patient arrives, Maxine tells Blue to investigate and report back. Bailey later sees Maxine wandering the hospital. She lets Blue slide on this one because he owes her. When Bailey, Blue and Schmidt investigate Maxine, she thinks Schmidt is her grandson. Bailey concludes that Maxine is septic. He is delirious from UTI.

Micah thinks he’s going to be fired from his job after Taryn walks out on Teddy. She eventually accosts the doctors’ meeting and tries to leave. Turns out, they want to help. He is getting a grant, which brings him to tears.

After Lucas remembers some important things, Nick makes up for Lucas not being up to par. Nick thinks Lucas is clearly struggling with ADHD. Later, Nick confronts Lucas about what he said. Lucas was never diagnosed. Nick points out that all the signs are there. He knows this because he has ADHD.

Sam’s broken bones have increased to 93. Link is under a lot of stress about the surgery. who is there to support him. She also offers to help with the surgery. When Joe goes to see Sam, he asks her out!

Before Sam’s major surgery, Simone asks Link if this is the right call. Owen quickly steps in to defend Link. Link understands why Simone is nervous, but tells her to focus on the present and not the past.

The surgery is long and grueling, but Sam makes it through. Link and the other surgeons are able to save all of his organs. Link tells Kwame that with extensive physical therapy, Sam has the potential to walk and regain full mobility in his fingers.

Blue finally tells Jules about Maxine, and she is furious. She blames him for Maxine’s current state. After talking to the other doctors about what’s going on with the interns, Richard goes to the bar to talk to Taryn. “What would it take to get you back?” he asks.

Amelia catches up to Winston on the way out and apologizes for blaming him. Maggie to leave, She took out her pain and sorrow on him, which was not fair at all. Winston accepts her apology.
