The last hour of the show, in case you forgot, titled GMA3: What you need to know, was co-hosted by Amy Roback and TJ Holmes. Roback hosted the previous iteration of the show before Holmes joined as co-anchor in September 2020.
Still, it’s a new day over GMA As anchors are permanently replacing Roback and Holmes, ABC announced Thursday, and they’re all familiar faces in the ABC News family.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News and GMAhas been chief medical correspondent, contributor and co-host of GMA3 since 2020 when the third hour primarily focused on news related to the pandemic.
She will be joined by DeMarco Morgan and Eva Pilgrim. Both are longtime employees of ABC News. DeMarco Morgan has been filling in for the past several months as a GMA3 host, so it should come as no surprise that he’s sticking around.
Meanwhile, Pilgrim has served as a GMA Weekend co-anchor since 2018.
As the network noted in a press release, these aren’t the only anchor changes happening at ABC News. Gio Benitez is taking on the Pilgrim’s weekend GMA Bhumika, previously serving as the network’s transport correspondent since 2020.
“I know these programs – and our viewers at home – will be well served by all their collective talents,” ABC News President Kim Godwin said in a press release.
As for Roback and Holmes, the pair have largely stayed out of the public eye in light of the alleged love affair.
