Fishermen stranded at sea had to cling to a cold bin after their boat capsized. Video / West Australia Police
One of four fishermen who were stranded at sea realized they had left something behind in their overturned boat off the Western Australian coast.
The fishermen called the police around 7.25 am on Sunday after their boat started sinking about 300 meters off Garden Island.
Police were told that the ship was taking on water and was beginning to sink.
Water police and marine rescue boats reached the spot after about 15 minutes.

By this point the four fishermen were already out to sea, with the bow of the boat visible just above the water line.
Bodycam footage taken by rescue officers shows the moment they arrive at the scene and find two men dangling in the water with lifejackets on.
Two people were helped to board the boat before rescuers found the others.
An officer can be heard saying, “We have two on-board and we are on the way to receive the other two within seconds.”

Shortly afterwards, two other men were found with their arms sticking out of a massive green ice chest.
Officers help them on board before pulling Chilli Bin out of the water and hoisting him onto the boat.
“There’s beer in the other eski,” a fisherman says, followed by a sigh.
“That’s just snow and bloody fodder.”
Marine rescue brought the sunken vessel back to shore.
None of the four men rescued were seriously injured, and it is believed that they spent about half an hour in the water.
