“I am writing about this as I go through these experiences. I’m just writing about the times I’ve made mistakes, when I’ve made mistakes, not seeing red flags, not trusting my gut, messing it up… you do things wrong. you do, and through the lessons you learn, you start to figure things out,” she continued, describing the experiences that inspired her work. “I think I’ve had a lot of There are moments, it’s just dreams coming true and I’m realizing that I’m exactly where I want to be and living my purpose, and that’s great.”
Alana’s release decision about twenty The three parts were purposeful, as she explained that she experienced each of these major life moments in “phases”. She also noted that although she has only “scratched the surface” in her early twenties, she has already learned a lot, which was one of her personal goals. “My main goal over the past few years has been to really know myself… who am I when I’m not in relation to someone else? And just being authentically myself,” she said. “I think the more you pursue it and the more you lean into finding it, the more you connect with the people around you, the more confident you become.”
She said, “I want to write about what is real. That’s all I care about. All I care about is getting in that room and telling the truth. And your twenties are such a finicky, difficult thing to get hold of. My experience may be a little different than someone else’s, but my hope is that when people hear it, they can find a part of themselves in one of those songs and feel a little less alone.

Alana, who was named CMT’s 2023 Next Women of Country Classadmitted that she is not usually “an open book”, so her songwriting is where she is able to be. most “vulnerable” and authentic self, Which of course comes through on the album. “Writing is the way that I sort out these knots of emotion in my mind. For me, writing is the only place where I’ve been able to completely let those walls down,” she revealed. “So, I think when people hear this album, it’s going to be an even deeper dive. It is who I am as a person and how I stand. I mean, there are songs about my hometown, where I grew up. I have songs about insecurity. There are songs about friendships breaking up, not being what they used to be. There are songs about all this. So I hope people feel that vulnerability too and just get to know me a little bit better, and through that I get to know them too.”
Alana is currently gearing up to support luke bryan on his upcoming Country On Tour 2023 this summer, and second installment of about twenty is out July 14th!
