Jared Jefferies played 11 years in the NBA. He was a first-round draft pick after a college career with the Indiana Hoosiers that won him the 2002 Big Ten Player of the Year award. But on Monday, he added something that not many other NBA players have to his trophy case: “The Price Is Right” winner.
Jeffries, who appeared on an episode of the iconic 50-year-old game show, won, as former announcer Bob Barker would say, “a new car!”
Jefferies, who is in the NBA washington wizards, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers And new York Knicks, was playing a game called “One Away”. According to “The Price is Right” website, the conditions of the game are described as follows: “An incorrect price is shown for a car. Each correct digit is one away from each incorrect digit. The contestant attempts to make the price Car. The contestant is then told how many digits are correct, and if at least one is correct, he or she is given a second and final chance to price the car.
And that’s what Jefferies did, winning a Toyota sedan.
